After renaming Facebook to Meta, the company made its first acquisition: Within, the studio behind the VR fitness app Supernatural.
Meta announced via a blog post that Within has signed an agreement to join Meta. Supernatural will be merged into Reality Labs but remain a standalone operation while continuing to create fitness, wellness and social experiences in virtual reality to help people achieve their goals in the happiest and most connected way possible.
"Virtual reality and the metaverse give us all the opportunity to connect and share experiences in meaningful and magical ways," the company said. Meta further stated that it hopes to continue to bring joy to the Supernatural community with more music, creative workouts, features and social experiences.
